In the last week and a half, I have seen several really cool cars in a town that is not known for really cool cars. More for engineers and scientists that drive Corollas and Accords. Yes, Albuquerque, NM.

The Ferrari FF in my home town is the shit. I get weird every time I see it.

Really? ABQ was the sales capital of the X1/9 in the 80s. I would have assumed the FRS and WRX would be all over the place out there.

Seen any of these lately?

Yes, a lot of BRZ/FRS on the road. WRX by the handful.

Yes, there is one nearby me and it gives me an opportunity to chuckle on a regular basis. Seriously, it has become somewhat of a cult car around here.

I swear I see twice as many of them even in LA since the show got popular. Hell I've even seen a couple intentionally missing that hubcap

I wonder how much it would cost to convert a 612 to a shooting brake. You can buy one with a 6MT for $100K. If it could be converted for under $100K then it would be way cheaper than an FF.
No AWD but I don't need no stinking AWD in CA.

I wonder if people are stupid enough to pay extra for AWD in BMWs and Mercs there.
Also, I realized earlier that we both live in Orange County!

Answer: YES
There are a LOT of stupid people here. They will buy whatever the salesman says is good for them. And there are also some filthy rich people that will just walk in and say "spec out the most expensive car you can for me. my car has to be the best."
Haha you're in Orange County too? I knew there was one in FL. Didn't know NY had one.

That's absurd, dumbasses. You should see the dealer lots in the northeast.
Not a RWD car in sight. You'll never ever see one on the road even if your life counted on it.

people are absurd!
did i tell you that one time when i took the E90 in for maintenance the tech told me that this old lady got an Alpina version of the 7 Series?
she didn't know how it was different than the regular 7 series at all. she just wanted the most expensive 7.

That's hilarious. They had an Alpina at the same dealer that I drove the M235i, it was awesome. I love the blue gauges, and those wheels...
People in California are better. People with money around these parts just get C-Classes and 3 Series's then spend it all on shopping and houses. What a boring way to live a privilged life.

Although there aren't many exotics that drive around (They seem to only come out for C&C) there are a ton of super sedans and unicorns. I always see M5s, AMGs and a whole bunch of really rare stuff.

That sounds so boring! Do they really need fancy handbags and nice watches?

No! And when they do buy nice cars, they take them out maybe once a year because they're afraid or something. How awful.

It seems like the car community is so much better out there.
How's the job market?

It's a lot better than it used to be. Depends on the sector. If you're an engineer then companies throw bags of gold at your feet, offer their daughters to you, and beg you to join them.
But some jobs are still hard to get. Don't graduate with a communications or general business degree.

I don't plan on either. I got a feeling that in 4 years engineering might not be as popular, and everyone needs accountants.

I don't think either will ever go out of style. It's the really general degrees that are no good.
